Animals at Adventure Camp

The kids are going to Adventure Camp this summer. It's two days a week. Each week has a different theme. A couple of weeks ago was safari/jungle. A lady brought in animals for the kids to pet and learn about.

Sleeping in

Friday I took the kids swimming 2 times. I thought they would be exhausted. On the way home from the 2nd swimming trip C asked if he could watch a movie when we got home. I agreed thinking they would both fall asleep after a few minutes. Jessica kept saying what she wanted to watch but I couldn't understand her. Finally Caleb figured out she was saying Buzz Lightyear and Mr. Potato Head. Thank goodness because I was about to set her down to watch something in Finnish! They ended up staying awake for the ENTIRE movie. I think C would have fallen asleep if Jessie hadn't sporadically sat up to talk about the movie. I think she would stay awake forever if we didn't put her in a bed to sleep. The three of us ended up sleeping in the "big bed" and poor Marc was left to sleep on the couch. The three of us slept late, imagine that!

New Lense

For my birthday Marc got me a new 50mm lens. It goes down to a 1.4 aperture. I LOVE it. I've been playing around with it and here are some of my favorites.

Addison Fountains

We went with Holly's family to the Addison Fountains yesterday. The kids absolutely loved it. The area is huge. They had 3 refection pools, one large rectangular pool that was waste deep on the kids, a huge area of ground fountains, and a small pool the fountains drained into. It was great for Holly and I because we just stood around taking pictures and watching.

Lake Tawakoni

We went camping at Lake Tawakoni a couple of weekends ago. We joined 3 other families that have been camping together for a while. The kids had a blast! Marc and I really enjoyed hanging out with our friends and watching the kids run around.

Jessica "helps" set up the tent.

The older kids have a great time riding their bikes in front of the campsite.

Jessica tries to keep up with the big kids on their bikes.

We had to cross a bridge on the way to the swimming whole.
This was the view. That isn't algae, it's tiny little plants.

Our friends really know how to eat on these camping trips!

Practicing for a career in tatooing

I left Jessica alone with markers. I knew better but I was distracted in another room. The box says washable. Apparently that means it's safe to wash over the marker not that it will wash off!

Welcome

I decided to give this a try. I figured it is a great way for family to check up on the kids once in a while. Things are always crazy here but I will try to keep things coherent. :-)
