First Day of School

 

It's official, Jessica is a Kindergartner.   She had a great first day.  She says her favorite part was Art Class.  The teacher showed her how to draw a dress.  She announced she had fun but didn't want to go back.  Sorry sweet girl, you have 17 years of this.

Caleb is rolling his eyes because he wants me to stop taking pictures and asking him to smile.  He said his favorite part is still recess.  He also liked that they got to have a snowball fight with wadded up paper balls.

I missed them both and 2:45 could not come quick enough.  I'm ready for the weekend already.

New Puppy

Here is a picture of Marble.  He is a Malti-Poo.  The kids are having a blast playing with him.  I'm enjoying my time outside alone with him when it's time to potty.  Marble seems to like us as well.  He wags his tail when he sees the kids and follows me around everywhere. 

Caleb is slightly allergic to him but he is not having asthma attacks.  His reactions have become less and less the more he is around him.  He has never washed his hands and face so much in his life. 

Jessica carries him around the entire time she is home with him.  I've never seen her so excited about anything.

Second Swim Meet

Jessica swam in her second meet this Sat.  She did great this time.  She swam freestyle and the backstroke.  After she had finished each race she announced she wanted to do it again! We are so very proud of her.

First Swim Meet

 Jessica had her first swim meet this weekend.  First up was a 4 person relay for 8 and under.  Her team included our friends Alison and Madalynn.  She did great and made it all the way from one end of the pool to the other.

Here she is getting ready for the 25.  She decided not to finish this one and turned back right after jumping in.  We will try again next weekend.

Jessica's Cultural Program

Jessica's school does an end-of-year Cultural Program.  Each class studies the culture, geography, and animals of a particular country during the last few months of school.  Then they learn a dance for that country.  Each class performs for all the parents.  Jessica's class learned about South Africa.  She is now obsessed with the Black Mamba snake.  Here she is with her class doing their dance. 

Each child had to memorize a fact about the country.  Here she is sayin her part about the flag of South Africa.

Easter 2011

I know Easter was a few months ago, but better late than never.  For Easter we went camping with our friends the Bells at Cooper Lake.  My friend, Holly, found us a great spot right on the lake with our own beach.  The kids found tons of things to do and we had a relaxing time.

There were TONS of ladybugs at the site.  This is what they caught in just a few minutes.

Jessica's Tap Costume

Jessica has her dance recital this weekend. She will be doing a tap routine to The Good Ship Lollipop. It is so cute. Here she is in her costume.

Lake Ray Roberts with Scouts

Caleb's Cub Scout Pack went camping at Lake Ray Roberts this weekend. We weren't able to camp due to commitments on Fri night and Sun so we drove out just for the day Sat. The kids went swimming in the lake. It was so cold I don't know how they could stand it! Both of them were so exhausted they fell asleep in the car on the way home, took a 4 hour nap, and then went back to bed around 10pm. I'm thinking they had fun.

Spring Break Campout

For the first half of Spring Break we went camping with friends at Lake Ray Roberts. It is just north of Denton. Marc and I enjoyed hanging out with our friends and the kids enjoyed getting dirty with theirs.
