Christmas Program

Jessica was Mary for the Christmas program this year. She didn't have a speaking part but was on the stage for the entire show. She did so great!

Okay, maybe she got a little bored towards the end.

Happy Halloween

Here are the kids in costume. They made pumpkins, bats and other Halloween decorations out of construction paper. We hung them in the bushes along with spiderwebs. The kids drew faces on the pumpkins and Marc carved them. He then took them down one street for Trick-or-Treating. Our neighborhood doesn't get many Trick-or-Treaters so they got tons of really good candy because the people were so excited to have them! One house was giving out Giardehli Mint White Chocolate squares, yum.

Caleb starts Karate

Caleb has been on a waiting list for the Karate program at our church for a year now. He finally got in a couple of weeks ago. He looks so handsome in his Gi and gear.

Caleb's First Day of Kindergarten

Monday was Caleb's first day in Elementary. He did great! He says his teacher is nice and he seems to like her. He is so tired when I pick him up that I don't get much out of him. He has been kind enough to tell me ALL about the video game they get to play about the alphabet called A to Zap.

Today I went through the carpool line and dropped him off. He was so excited to walk into the school all by himself. When I asked him if he was ok with it he said "Oh yeah! That would be cool." What an independent little boy. He rocks!

Sea World

We went to watch a 3-D movie one morning. It turned out to be way too scary for our kids and left after just a couple of minutes. Next time when they warn us it might be too scary for small children we'll leave!

Jessica wanted to ride the smallest roller coaster in the park. She got a little scared a couple of times but was so excited when it was over she was giggling.

Caleb isn't much of a roller coaster rider but he couldn't wait to try the Rio Loco. He loved it and we had to go back and ride it again on our last day.

We fed the dolphins while the kids watched. Caleb warmed up to them and petted one on the head. Jessica was so excited but wouldn't touch them.

We rented a stroller each day to around the park, it's huge! Most of the time the kids got along and were glad they weren't walking. Here they are pretending to fight so I would stop taking pictures.

2009 Vacation

For our vacation we spent 2 days at Sea World, 2 days at Schlitterbahn, and 2 days in Austin. Everyone agrees Schlitterbahn was the best. The whole family had a blast and can't wait to go back!

No More Training Wheels!!!!

Caleb started riding without training wheels yesterday. It just took Marc running beside him for a few steps and he took off. He did so awesome and no big falls yet. The transition couldn't have gone smoother! Today he insisted on learning how to start on his own. He even told a neighbor that came to help that he could do it, and he eventually did. Man was that hard to watch and not go help (especially when the man came out of his house to try and help!). Anyway, he is VERY proud of himself and now wants to ride all the time.

These pics were taken when we first went out to the field near our house. Marc thought that was best since there was lots of room and if he fell it would be on the grass.

First boat trip for the summer

At the end of May it was finally warm enough to take the boat out. The kids were scared at first but started to have fun after a few minutes. We stopped and went for a swim. Caleb LOVED jumping off the back of the boat. Jessica spent the whole time trying to give us Noodles.

Cowgirl

Jessica sleeps with the rocking horse next to her bed. She likes to pet it and talk to it before she falls asleep. It's really cute. One night she fell asleep with her hat on.

Elissa

The Houston Yacht Club was hosting the annual Elissa Regatta the weekend we went down for Marc's reunion. My parents had the privilege of going sailing on her the week or so before. Since it was so close to their house we decided to take the kids to see her, and I wanted to see her again too.

Jessica down below in the Captain's Cabin

When I was in 5th and 6th grade I got to sleep on board as part of a Marine Biology camp I attended. One of the times we had to get up and cook breakfast in this galley the next morning. It was in July and soooooo hot.

This wonderful man took Caleb all over the ship. He showed him all kinds of neat things and answered all of Caleb's questions. He even let him sit at the navigation station and talked to him about the charts and instruments. Caleb loved it!

At one point this person came by in a kayak. We noticed they stopped and realized it was to talk on a cell phone!

No pool boy...

We don't have a pool so a young pool boy would be too obvious. Instead I got myself a sexy gardener!

Pet Book

Caleb's class has been working on making 17 books. I thought we would get Caleb's work at the end of the year but it turns out we will get one of the completed books. I decided to take pictures of they books as they come home with him. Here is the pet book.
